Lost & Found

Verses from my Devotional
(Jesus Calling by Sarah Young)

Ephesians 2:10
For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

My Humble View~

For we are God's (the perfect and all-powerful spirit or being that is worshiped especially by Christians, Jews, and Muslims as the one who created and rules the universe) workmanship (the quality of the work that is done by someone), created in Christ Jesus (the man who Christians believe is the son of God and whose life, death, and resurrection as reported in the New Testament of the Bible are the basis of the Christian religion*) to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Hebrews 12:3
Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

My Humble View~

Consider (to think about (something or someone) carefully especially in order to make a choice or decision) him who endured (to continue to exist in the same state or condition ~ to deal with or accept (something unpleasant) ~ to experience (pain or suffering) for a long time) such opposition (action that is done to stop or defeat someone or something ~ a person or group that you are trying to defeat or succeed against) from sinful (very bad or wicked) men, so that you will not grow (become) weary (bored or annoyed by something because you have seen it, heard it, done it, etc., many times or for a long time) and lose heart.

 Me ~

We should begin our day with God. (and take him with us throughout the day and end the day with him too!) But starting the day with him is important. It gets you in the right frame of mind to greet the day and prepares you for your day. You will grow closer with him and reach for him and rejoice in him! Let God prepare you for your day ahead and you cannot go wrong!

Lost: Yesterday was the beginning of A Testimony of Thanksgiving with Holly at Epic Surrender. I looked for it but could not find it. I thought I was (goofy, lost, insane ~ your choice LOL!) I checked and rechecked throughout the day. (???)

Found: This morning I headed over there and discovered I had downloaded the wrong bookmark (she makes the coolest bookmarks for your Bible study). I had the old study. So! I have the correct one now and I will be doing yesterdays and today's because I do not want to miss any blessings. And so it goes...

If you would like to join us? It lasts for 4 weeks. Just click the link on the side of the page or the graphic above. :-) See you there!

Week 1 Monday ~ Magnify the Lord

We are to read Psalms 69:1-36 (click!)

And our verse is:
Psalms 69:30
I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.

My Humble View~

I will praise (to express thanks to or love and respect for God) God's name in song and glorify (to honor or praise) him with thanksgiving (a prayer that expresses thanks to God).

Me ~

Holly talks of the first Thanksgiving in the US.

It must have been a horrendous life! From 16 married woman... down to just 4 in the first winter.  Can you imagine losing 12 of your friends. Would you or could you still be thankful? They just were not prepared for the winter and it took it's toll.

The following Fall they did give thanks. God had watched over them and had sent the Indians to teach them how to survive the harsh winters. With God's grace they were ready and had a feast to give thanks and praise him! Without God I don't think they would have survived the second Winter. I honestly don't!

Week 1 Tuesday ~ Praising In the Pain

We are to read: Philippians 4:1-7

And our verse is:
Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

My Humble View~

Do not be anxious (afraid or nervous especially about what may happen) about anything, but in every situation (an important or sudden problem), by prayer (words spoken to God especially in order to give thanks or to ask for something) and petition (a prayer or request to God), with thanksgiving (a prayer that expresses thanks to God), present your requests (an act of politely or formally asking for something) to God

Me ~

One of my favorite verses in the Bible as God has been showing it to me over and over. My name is Patty A Muich and I think the A is for anxious. God is teaching me that my being anxious is a waste of time and pretty hard on the body. I cannot do anything without him so I should just give it to God and relax.

Today Holly talked about a guy I had never heard of. George Mueller. I am glad that she told me about him because he had great faith. He was married twice. When he lost his  first wife he thanked God for taking her home.

You can read some of his story here. You will see that he believed in God, had no doubts whatsoever that God would provide. And you know... God did!

May God bless you and keep you, today, tomorrow and always!
Love,
Patty

PS I am in the Fall Book Club at bloom too... I think you can still join that. Link is up on the left ;-)

* Christ Jesus ~ also in the dictionary definition ~ also Christ, Jesus Jesus Christ, Christ, and Jesus are commonly used as interjections to express surprise and anger. These uses are avoided in polite speech. I was always taught it was a sin. What do you think?
Exodus 20:7
7 “You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

One Word

I was out visiting some blogs this morning :-) I am always looking for new things! When I stopped by just following Jesus by Elizabeth Stewart I found One Word 365. As I read about it? I thought HEY! I can do that! I can remember one word! If I write it down... LOL!

And the word jumped into my head, uninvited... I mean it. I had not even finished reading about it and the word landed in my brain with both feet.

o·be·di·ence

ōˈbēdēəns/
noun
noun: obedience

    1.
compliance with an order, request, or law or submission to another authority.
"children were taught to show their parents obedience"
    synonyms:    compliance, acquiescence, tractability, amenability;
    dutifulness, duty, deference, observance of the law/rules;
submissiveness, submission, conformity, docility, tameness, subservience, obsequiousness, servility
"the party leadership wants blind obedience to their policies"

Oh boy! That is a hard word. It is not fun to be obedient. I have been obedient most of my life. Not correctly but obedient none the less. I was obedient to my mother and then my husband. And he was not following God's word.

I have linked One Word 365 to the right if you would like to read about it. And the above graphic is from intentional by grace back to it's page. I wanted a graphic and that was the best I found... other than puppy dogs being trained.

Deuteronomy 5:33
Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.

I want to obedient to God. I think I will find much happiness in this. It will take a lot more prayers than just mine so please put me on your prayer list. A whole lot more ;-)

Today in group we are talking about NOT worrying about tomorrow. This is a big one for me as I have always been a worry~wart. I have told my kids that if there is nothing to worry about I make something up to worry about. I am just that used to worry. I tell myself over and over, Let Go, Let God and it is slowly sinking in. I am catching myself more and more often and turning it around. Thank you Lord! I no longer want to limp through the days worrying about tomorrow.

I lost a neighbor this past weekend. I hope she did not worry all day Saturday about Sunday as for her, Sunday did not come. That would be an awful waste of a day. I will try to keep that in mind. I am learning not to worry over the future and to not fret about my past. God has forgiven me and will not lead me wrong. Pretty great when you stop and think about it!!

Sept 30th Verses:
Matthew 6:34
John 10-10
James 4:13-15

I have been slipping with this already.
I am NOT going to worry about it.
I will just catch up!

Saturday September 28th
Day Six
My Grandson's ''First Date"

Sunday September 29th
Day Seven
Denver Bronco Game

Living in Wisconsin I usually do not get to see my favorite team play but I got to see 3/4 of it yesterday. The Broncos were so far ahead they switched us over to a different game for the last quarter. I got upset at first and then I remembered to thank God for 3/4 instead of grumbling about the last one :-)

Monday Sept 30th
Day Eight

Cleaning the shower. Strange? Very. But I remember when I was so very sick and could not take care of it. That is where I keep Peanut's puppy training papers and if I cannot take care of that I don't think I should have a dog. There was a time when I had to hire help for a couple of weeks and I was very sad. Thankful I did not have to do it but was sad that I couldn't. Today I will scrub and scrub and SMILE :-)

I was so excited about Alex's (group) date that I forgot to find out the young ladies name. I have asked my daughter and I am waiting for her response. I think the twins have her tied up. Again! LOL!!

He looks so little in this picture but he really isn't.
He is as tall as his mom and I!! Or more!

He is ready for his "Bright" future in  this one!
I think he got Granny's & Mom's sense of humor (Yippee!)

One for the  memory book...

May God bless you all!

First Date...

Every day God talks to us. I am learning to be still and listen for what he is teaching me. I am going to put them here (so I can find them :-) and read them many times to remind myself! If you happen to be reading this I will share with you. I hope they touch your heart as well.

This is how I start my day before I even get out of bed. I read today's devotional and then grab my bed Bible and look up the verses. Today's message was to relax in His arms. Instead of getting upset when I run out of steam I should rejoice that God is there to lean on and it is a reminder to trust Him.

I just had a 'lazy day' this week and let myself be a bit upset as I had to stay on the porch instead of running with the big dogs. This message is a comfort to me as, even though my health is better, there are still a lot of down days. Now I know just to kick back, lean on him and enjoy my time spent with him.

Today's verses were: Deuteronomy 33:27 and Psalm 27:13-14

My first stop was my inbox when I got online. From (in)courage.me  there was a post that reminded me of when I was a young mom and  my daughter. Sweet memories (most of them LOL!)

I read: For When Your Child Feels Out of Control (and You Do, Too) by Sarah Mae

She shared:
The Lord your God is in your midst,
a mighty one who will save;
he will rejoice over you with gladness;
he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing.
Zephaniah 3:17, ESV

I told her I was going to put it on my blog so I could read it over and over. You can sign up to get her blog posts and also sign up for her Sisterhood Circle. I am going to try it but I may be a fish out of water. It may just be young moms :-)

Last night I was half way listening to the TV and half way reading or half way playing a game that is supposed to calm me down for the night.... I just zone out. My phone chimed at 11:30 pm. It was my daughter... texting that my grandson has his first 'date' tonight. He just turned 14 and has always been shy. Mary said, "Where did MY Alex go? Who is this kid that TALKS to classmates and ASKS a girl out???"

Don't worry. It is a small town and someone knows someone and the girl is a good girl. And... it is a group date. They are all meeting in the park and then my son in law is going to be chauffeur for the evening. Wow... my grand baby.... wasn't he just born a year or two ago??

AND the girl? (I feel awful as I was in a state of shock and forgot to ask her name) was voted homecoming queen last night!

This is a picture of Alex... he turned 14 on Aug 28th and the twins arrived on Aug 29th. Mary said he is VERY good with them. He is so young! Please pray that they have a wonderful, safe, fun, safe, happy, safe time. God will be with them!

That is it for today... my inbox is empty and my news has run out. I have linked most of this and hope you enjoy and have an awesome weekend! I will probably see you Monday!

Thankful Thursday

Today's verses were:

Isaiah 50:4
4) The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary.
He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed.

Isaiah 55:2-3
2) Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare.
3) Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David.

John 19:30
30) When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Matthew 27:50-51
50) And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.
51) At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split.

I am just a plain Jane, an every day type of person. I will never met the Pope or the President. Heck I doubt if I will even meet the Mayor of Menomonie. But I CAN talk to God any time I want to. And if I am really quiet and pay attention he speaks to me all the time. I don't need to meet anyone famous. I just need God!

Please note: The Bible Verses are from New International Version of the Bible. Any mistakes or misprints are due to me and if you notice any please let me know so I can correct them. Thanks!!

 Day Four

A Lazy Day is a Joy. As long as they do not happen often! It has been years since I have been able to work but I still try to keep busy on the Internet. My favorite past times are helping people, visiting friends online and doing my blogs. There are some days when I do not feel well enough to do this.... But then there are days when I just goof off! This is one of the fun goof off days!

And I am blogging as it makes me happy... on lazy days too!

I have this and really enjoy it so thought I would share :-)

Off to enjoy some more of my lazy day!

Wonderful Wednesday!

Today's verses were:

Psalm 23:4
4) Even though I walk through *the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Footnotes:
*Or the valley of the shadow of death

Matthew 7:1-2
(Judging Others)
1)“Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
2) For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Proverbs 29:25
25) Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.

This week God has been telling me over and over to trust. To not worry about what others think. To just take care of my actions and thoughts. Trust is very hard for me as everyone I have known has let me down at one time or another. That is human nature. I am sure I have let them down as well. Sometimes it almost crushes your heart when it happens.

I truly believe I trust God. I am sure I am just in the baby step range though. I need to practice this so I can go out for God's track team and win the long jump!

Please note: The Bible Verses are from New International Version of the Bible. Any mistakes or misprints are due to me and if you notice any please let me know so I can correct them. Thanks!!

Day Three

Walking is a joy! Being able to walk around in my apartment is a joy. Sounds so very simple doesn't it? But I have been so sick that I have had to use my transport chair to get around. It is like a wheel chair but has four tiny wheels instead. No Fun! You drag yourself around using your feet and legs.

But I am using my e-cigarettes instead of regular ones and each day I can feel my lungs getting clearer and clearer. Praise God! I still use my chair when I am cooking. I sit in it and rest and Peanut and I discuss cooking tips or what ever crosses our mind :-) Well I discuss things... she just says it is time to eat usually!

Vroom Vroom!
(Does Not Handle Corners Well LOL!)

I have a bad habit of getting stuck in my mail box or on facebook. I have cut down on both and that has left me a little time to go wandering on the Internet. I mean why have it and not use it?

Last night I was searching for a widget for my page and discovered the perfect one from a perfect site :-) Well.... I guess I should say it was just what I was looking for at the time. I  am not sure if it is perfect or not. But it fit!

The widget is to the right and the web site is:

The graphic will take you there or if you see a post that you would like to look into further just click on the widget.

Last night I also linked the blogs that were listed in my group and I hope to at least visit a few a day. You learn so much as one person sees it their way and someone else sees it their way and at least one of them will click with you!

An update on the bacon in the crock pot? It was fantastic! I am not sure how long you would cook regular bacon but I cooked the ends and pieces about 4 hours, stirring once an hour so it did not stick together. The meat was very tender. Now I have it all ready to freeze into portions for cooking!

I sincerely hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday!

Sunny Tuesday!

Today's verses were:

Psalm 89:15-16
15) Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, Lord.
16) They rejoice in your name all day long; they celebrate your righteousness.

Psalm 16:8
8) I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

2 Peter 1:2
2) Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

I learned that I need to have God and Jesus on my mind and in my heart at all times. It will not steal attention away from my loved ones... it will enrich my time with them. The more time I spend with them the more I will feel protected and I will be filled with peace. That sounds so very good to me!

Please note: The Bible Verses are from New International Version of the Bible. Any mistakes or misprints are due to me and if you notice any please let me know so I can correct them. Thanks!!

Day Two

Waking up with my Peanut is a Joy everyday! Even though she tends to try to steal most of the bed she leaves a little slice on the edge for me. Am I talking about a German Sheppard? A Saint Bernard? No just a (little bit) over-weight Chihuahua :-) She is my baby!

When we greet each other in the morning we discuss being night night, having happy dreams, snuggling and all sorts of stuff that pops into my head. She loves the attention and just wiggles all over the place and tires to wash my face.

Sometimes she gets up with me but many days she stays in bed... till noon. She is a night owl dog LOL!!

Today I have been vising blogs and would like to share some with you. I am adding the buttons to the side of the page as I discover them. The one to the right... Rhonda is our group. There is another one I would like to share too Three Way Light by Jody Lee Collins.

I guess that is it for today. I am starting to wilt and need to take a rest. I am trying something new! I bought bacon ends and pieces as I cook with it. Instead of standing and trying to fry it I put it in  my slow cooker and have been stirring it every hour. I will let you know how it turns out :-)

Love to you and yours!!
Patty & Peanut the bed hog!

Last But Not Least Post :-)

Today's verses were:

Psalm 68:19
19) Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.

1 John 1:7-9
7) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all[a] sin.
8) If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

1 John  4:18
18) There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

I learned that I should give my burden of guilt (that I have carried around for years and add to it all the time) to Jesus and he will free me. As I study more and learn about him I will increase my freedom. It is very hard to let go of things that you have clutched for so long.

I heard recently that asking for forgiveness, over and over, is a form of unbelief. He hears us the first time and forgives us. By asking again we are telling him that we did not believe he did it the first time. This makes very good sense to me. Just let it go...

(This devotional is from Jesus Calling and there is  information about it on I Heart Books Page. The Bible Verses are from New International Version of the Bible. Any mistakes or misprints are due to me and if you notice any please let me know so I can correct them. Thanks!!)

Day One

I am joining a lady in my group to do this! I think she just posted it so I am sure many more will join in with us. I have linked the above graphic to her blog if you would like to visit her. I would like to introduce you to Barb Gonzalez Olsen! :-)

I went out today, which I usually don't. I made a short trip up to the nearby grocery store. I was filled with Joy with the sun on  my face and the crisp fall air blowing through my hair. It almost grabbed my cap once and that made me laugh!

I hope you had a blessed day today! I wore myself out and had to recharge before I could blog. I did not want to miss a day on my second day! I know there will be times I cannot do it but my goodness I hope I can make it at least a week before that happens. :-)

Love to you!
Patty & Peanut
